The
Castle Rock Township 2025 Annual Meeting
was held at 8:30pm on March 11, 2024 at the Castle Rock Town Hall. The meeting included the usual order of business to include, approval of the 2024 Annual Meeting Minutes, reading of the various township reports, and approval of the 2025 Budget. The township approved to increase the Levy from $349,734 to $385,000. Under New Business Agenda items, Motions were made and carried to have the BOS look into moving to two meetings a month for the BOS and PC(rather than the current 1 meeting a month), live/on-demand streaming of meetings, possible changes on how voting is calculated in the future, communication with attorney being more transparent and possibly going through two board members rather than just one, and adding a rule in the ordnance to specifically address dumpsters in the right away. There were also discussions of possible conflict of interest with engineering firm due to NDA's, there was a motion to look for a new engineering firm, but it didn't pass. The board of canvass will meet on March 12th at 4pm or certify the election. The meeting was adorned at 11:05 pm.
The Castle Rock Planning Commission meeting was held on February 25, 2025. The meeting was called to order at 7PM. A permit request was denied for an accessory building due to it not meeting proper setbacks. A permit for an AG shed was approved. There was a presentation about the proposed Mork Wetland. The planning commission voiced their concerns over the lose of tax revenue to the Township while other communities experience tax revenue increases. The Braun wetland area was referenced during the conversation. In reference to data centers, there was discussion and additional items were sent to the planner for review to be added to the new ordinance manual. The commission also discussed the current mining regulations in the ordinance manuals. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:30PM.
The
Castle Rock Township Board of Supervisors meeting was held on March 10th, 2025. The meeting was called to order at 7:00PM. A permit was approved for a large assembly for Tunnel to Towers at the fairgrounds. An AG Preserve Termination was also approved. One building permit was approved for an AG shed. The board approved repairing bridge signs on 230th. Also approved was tree trimming on 250th Street, brush trimming along 230th Street, and a partial tree removal on 230th Street. There was discussion on water backup at Cambodia and 275th Street, Otte's will be contacted to advise the town board on options. Xcel Energy applied for a permit to install additional lines on the current power poles, this was tabled until the April meeting. The building inspector contract will be put out for bid. Ottomatic's contract for lawn mowing and snowremoval was renewed. There was discussion about weed inspection but no action was taken. The board also approved payment for training classes for board and staff members. The meeting adjourned at approximatly 10:00PM.
